Cork Craft Month celebrates all things craft and design. This annual celebration every August, now in its 11th year, is an opportunity to showcase the wealth of talent and skill there is in Cork across a range of craft and design disciplines.
Cork Craft Month is coordinated by Cork Craft & Design (CCD), a voluntary organisation of over 100 Cork-based craftspeople. As an umbrella group for professional craft makers in Cork, their goal is to make Cork city and county a recognised centre of excellence for making, seeing, collecting, buying and learning about contemporary craft.
This is showcased in Cork Craft Month, where both new and emerging makers are championed. It brings together makers, communities, families, organisations, collectors, and enthusiasts, to build awareness about the value of the craft tradition in Ireland.
The festival of events spans both the city and county, giving you access to everything from woodturning demonstrations, textiles exhibitions to bookbinding.
As well as a showcase of craft and its people, Cork Craft Month is also a vehicle to ensure we continue to preserve, encourage and nurture the special skills of the people working in the craft sector across Ireland today.
