SUSAN HERLIHY CERAMICS
My Story
Born in Midleton, East cork Susan grew up close to the woods and the Owenacurra estuary, inspiring and influencing her creativity.
” I grew up believing in the magic of the trees and seeing shapes in the ripples of water. I still do! “
Training as a slip caster in Scotland and developing her skills further to wheel throwing and hand building , Susan has also attended focused workshops and residencies in both Japan and India.
She opened her urban studio in Midleton in 2006, where she still sells her pots and teaches .
She has exhibited with Ceramics Ireland and the Society of Cork Potters. She has also created work for local restaurants and collaborated with various groups and individuals on ceramic projects and installations.
