We’re delighted to announce a crafty initiative to raise much needed funds for Marymount Hospice in Cork, Cork Craft & Design Makers for Marymount 2020 Fundraiser

The top prizes in the fundraiser include a bespoke blanket box from furniture maker Anthony Aylward worth €650, a life size stained glass Heron by Gaby Aubin valued at €250 and a beautifully intricate quilted patchwork throw and cushions by award winning textile artist Mary Palmer with a price tag of over  €450.

With thirty- one of Cork Craft & Design’s members donating work to this worthy cause, other prizes include a selection of bespoke jewellery pieces, Batik wall art, sculptural ceramics, lighting, prints, glass and homewares. This raffle is a collection of uniquely tailored pieces from some of Cork’s most talented Craft makers.

The groups chair Bernadette Tuite said: ‘This is the second time our organisation has come together on this scale to support a local charity at Christmas, our collaboration is urgently needed this year in particular as fundraising and donations to Marymount have been deeply affected by the pandemic. We are so proud of our Makers generosity, we have an amazing list of prizes on offer to suit everyone. I know that Marymount has been a pillar of support to so many Cork families in their time of most need. Now CCD and the community can return that support by getting onboard, purchasing a raffle ticket, and help us reach our fundraising target of €5,000 by midnight of 12th of December.’

Tickets are available to buy via our Cork Craft & Design Facebook Event page – Makers for Marymount 2020 –  and directly on idonate.ie.

With tickets for sale at just €10.00 per ticket this is an ideal opportunity to support your local hospice and be in with a chance of owning some fabulous Cork craft pieces just in time for the festive season. The prize draw will take place at 3pm at the Cork Craft & Design’s Christmas Market, 27a St. Patricks Woollen Mills , Douglas, on December 13th 2020.
