We are excited to have an International element to our Showcase Exhibition this year, with Australian Artist Pattie Beerens work ‘Mattering Happening’. This work is a performative collaboration which occurred in Ireland and in Australia. While Curator Tomasz Madajczak created this piece indoors from Patties concept, Pattie created a version outdoors in Australia at the same time from the same concept. Tomaszs piece is on display in the space in the Working Artists Studio Exhibition Space in Ballydehob, and is accompanied by video footage of Patties work.
The exhibition is aiming to create a visual dialogue between craftsmen, makers and designers describing their approach to the biggest questions of our times. How can we sustain ourselves without exploiting the planet from its resources? You can experience the Cork Craft Month Showcase Exhibition virtual tour yourself here.
