Workshop: Introduction to Art Jewellery

Join Jaki Coffey for an enjoyable workshop in creating your own art jewellery. Coffey will guide you through the design and making process to construct an interesting, wearable piece.

Engage in a playful way of making by using texture, scale, collage, connections, colour and found objects.

Meet other makers who share your interest and passion for creativity.

About studio jewellery:

Studio jewellery (or art jewellery) makes a statement about the wearer.  It is a fun diversion from traditional jewellery making whilst still borrowing elements of the traditional making process

Introduction to studio jewellery and to Jaki’s practice.

We will then begin with a design session before starting our making process

Break at halftime for 10 mins

We will finish making our objects and conclude with a group show and tell.

Coffey holds an MFA in Design and a Bdes in Craft Design (Metal and Jewellery) from NCAD. She has previously given workshops with the Design and Craft Council of Ireland and with the National College of Art and Design.  She has won several awards and funding and has had her studio jewellery chosen for Schmuck.
