Family Friendly Workshop with Renowned and Gifted Willow Craft Basket Maker Rosemary Kavanagh of Wild Rose Basketry (Suitable for U13’s with supervision)

As part of the celebration of Heritage Week 2021, Chapel Hill School of Art will join Cork Craft & Design to host a series of Heritage events during Cork Craft Month.

One of these events is a family friendly workshop presented by Rosemary Kavanagh, who is the two hands behind Wild Rose Basketry. Rosemary has dedicated the past 10 years of her life to courting Ancient Arts and many ways of the land that are wise and wrinkled with
time.

Join Rosemary in this all ages workshop where participants learn to weave willow and bull rush ‘fishes’ and hanging spirals through the medium of storytelling about our native salmon and Heritage arts. All materials are provided and participants will go home with their very own Willow Fish.
