It’s a wrap on Cork Craft Month 2020! With Cork Craft Month 2020 now behind us, we here at Cork Craft and Design would like to thank each and everyone one of you from the bottom of our hearts. From the event organizers, to the supporters and members of the public who tuned in to watch all of our online events and activities as part of Cork Craft Month 2020.
Adapting to this year’s approach was no easy feat but everyone responded with resilience and we all embraced being pushed outside our comfort zone .
Cork Craft Month celebrates all things craft and design. This annual celebration every August is an opportunity to showcase the wealth of talent and skill there is in Cork across a range of craft and design disciplines.
Cork Craft Month is coordinated by Cork Craft & Design (CCD), a voluntary organisation of over 100 Cork-based craftspeople. As an umbrella group for professional craft makers in Cork, their goal is to make Cork city and county a recognised centre of excellence for making, seeing, collecting, buying and learning about contemporary craft.
The aim of Cork Craft Month is to bring together makers, communities, families, organisations, collectors, and enthusiasts, to build awareness about the value of the craft tradition in Ireland, as well as a showcase of craft and its people. For more updates check out the Cork Craft Month Instagram page.
Cork Craft Month is also a vehicle to ensure we continue to preserve, encourage and nurture the special skills of the people working in the craft sector. We needed to adapt our usual organisational approach to Cork Craft Month, as we moved many of our demonstrations and events online. In such unprecedented times we couldn’t be prouder to have achieved all of this for Cork Craft Month 2020.
We would like to thank you for joining us throughout Cork Craft Month, your support is so important to us. It’s a wrap on Cork Craft Month 2020! We are looking forward to the excitement of Cork Craft Month 2021. We will see you there!
