My Story

Born in East Cork Martha Cashman is a mid-career sculptor; she received a BA Hons degree in Ceramic Design at Crawford MUT in 2007.  Large scale work and site-specific installations has been become more of a focus in her practice in recent years.  This year she was invited to an International Symposium in Romania and selected for the World Craft Council Europe’s artist exchange.  Also selected to be part of Earth Rising at IMMA.  Her largescale land art proposal was selected by Greywood Art centre for the May Festival 2023 at Glenbower wood.

In 2022 her eco ceramics birdfeeder installation was selected for Sculpture In Context at Botanical Gardens and also Earth Rising at IMMA. In 2021 she was commissioned to show a collection of work at Glor Ennis. Over the past 10 years she has created work at international symposiums in Latvia, Turkey, Cyprus, Tunisia, Romania and a collection of her large-scale work is held in museums in these countries.

Her most recent collaboration was with fashion designer Caroline Duffy, selected to work on a unique piece for the DCCOI collaboration with the Council of Irish Fashion Designers project in 2022 and she had been selected in 2019 to collaborate with designer Hazel Green. She is currently creating work for upcoming exhibitions. She maintains professional memberships of the Design and Craft Council of Ireland, Cork Potters and Cork Craft and Design.
