My Story

I seek always to allow the wood’s natural grain take the limelight, paring it back  to its natural beguiling beauty. Traditional designs and methods rooted in our heritage are the marks of my work.

Sustainability is one of my core values and wood fallen in nature’s storm is my ideal raw material. The wood of each tree is living story, and when this story is connected directly to my customer’s own story it is particularly thrilling. I am always open to commissions connecting wood of trees from my customer’s past  and creating  meaningful furniture that lives on in the present.

All my work is from native Irish timbers, Irish Oak, Elm, Ash, Yew and Spalted Beech.

I grew up on a small farm in Beara West Cork and working as a furniture maker brings me close to land and our traditions differently, a new branch from the same tree.
