West Cork Creates - Alison Ospina
Our Story
West Cork Creates is an annual exhibition which has taken place in Skibbereen for the last 12 years. The WCC committee, chaired by craftsperson Alison Ospina, is made up of artists, craftspeople and local people with a long history of involvement in the arts. Over the years, WCC has gained a reputation for showing the very best of arts and crafts from this region and has developed a loyal audience who visit the show year after year.
West Cork Creates is a selling show and for many professional participants, it is a much appreciated “shop window” for their work. It is an opportunity not only to sell their work but also to connect with customers and collectors who might have an interest in future commissions. It has been very successful in this regard.
Each year, the WCC Committee selects work from a wide range of media including, metalwork, sculpture, ceramics, wood, glass, textiles, and silver/goldsmithing.
In Cork we are fortunate to have a vast pool of talent to select from and each year we introduce “emerging” creative practitioners to the exhibition, as well as showing work from regular participants.
